Gorgeous Colors, a Gorgeous Shop!

Certain art just grabs my attention and it's usually art that has awesome contrasts or amazing colors and compositions. Shelly of Shellypsoucircles shop is so full of color and gorgeous organic shapes, I could not help but share a bit of her artwork.

My current favorite is so lovely:

It's titled Every Most Hidden Part Of It and the first thing I thought of was a gorgeous pomegranate. The lines and color blending are so wonderful and the pop of red... wow.

I just love this piece:

Some of my favorite colors are in this particular painting, and I love the values she has created with all the dots. The titles are so fun for these and this particular piece is titled "Dragonfly Chatter" . Immediately, I am searching for shapes that make me think of a dragonfly, or two... since there is chatter going on. ;-) It's kind of like searching for images when looking at the clouds on a gorgeous day, except these paintings are not limited to four or five colors.

Last, but not least:

Speaking of clouds, He Makes Clouds Rise From The Ends Of The Earth just intrigues me the more I look at it. I feel that way about most of Shelly's pieces though.

I am going through my Grammie's vintage glassware and trying to gather all the stuf I am going to eventually sell and came across this awesomeness:

I don't know if I am going to be able to pass this up. What do all think? Keep? Sell? Ahh! Decisions!

Tiny Creations and Inspirations.

I thought I would try a different way of getting inspired and create something aside from what I usually make. I bought these tiny scissors charms at a local bead store, and I will be using a pair for a new piece in my shop that I will be making soon, but I wanted to have a little fun first, so I made a tiny paper doll chain and no, I did not use the scissors charm, I used an Exacto knife instead and so it gave me an idea for the new piece. I thought I would share my sad results with all of you.

I think this would be fun if I could actually work this small (the paper doll chain ended up measuring 2"x3/4" ), but I just don't have the patience for it, I think. The poor little dolls seem to have two heads... :-/

So sometimes, doing something you have never done before will inspire a new project!

I will be posting the new piece this week, so stay tuned!

Tulips, Anemones, and Ranunculus...in 3 vases.

We had a final arrangement assigned to us in floral design class and I actually liked mine quite a lot and brought it home. We get to purchase arrangements we create (if we like them enough to buy them) so I bought mine and my little sister's arrangement as well. I was super excited that I got to use some Anemones and Ranunculus in my arrangement.

From class:

I love having fresh flowers at home!

Slightly Underpainting...

I have been working on getting back to painting...even if it's not an every day thing. As I was sending off my little hand painted ring Into the Forest She Goes, I thought how cool it would be to make a small painting of my heroine in the woods.

I thought I would share the work in progress as a short entry for today since I am desperately wanting to blog more. The background is still a bit on the purple side and I will be adding many more warm tones to the forest and finish up the lady in the formal gown.

Hope you like it and I apologize for the horrible surroundings which are way more red than I would like. Disclaimers...haha. :-D

With Winter Comes a Tale...

...and a treasury.

I put together this treasury last night and it made me think of how there are so many amazing treasuries that have been curated with a story, a fairy tale, or classic tale in mind, so I am going to share a few of those with all of you - these are some of my favorites lately.

...and last but not least, a more modern story:

These lovely treasuries are all created by my fellow Treasury League teammates and I wish I could post more, for there are so many gorgeous collections made by these talented ladies. Your treasuries are inspiring and you make everything that is beautiful even more captivating!
