It's time for a sale! The Early Bird Sale, that is!

The Early Bird Sale is now underway in my Etsy shop!

~ Arabian Nights ~ Dangle Earrings

I wonder how many people shop frantically the month before Christmas...I know that for myself it's much easier to get things done ahead of time. I find it much more enjoyable to shop at a slower pace and usually can take much more time finding a unique gift for the awesome people in my life. Etsy's the perfect place for finding such items.

~ The Key to the Garden ~ Copper Key Necklace

Now's the perfect time to start early and get started on your trek into the world of Christmas shopping - or perhaps you have a friend or loved one who has a birthday coming up...so get your clicking fingers ready and start shoppin'! If you are looking for unique jewelry and some One of a Kind pieces, I hope you can find something you like over in my little corner on Etsy where you will find that my entire shop is 20% off! Yay! This Sale ends on Sunday, October 17th at midnight.

The Dahlia - an Inspiration.

My super awesome floral design teacher knows of my love for making handmade paper and gave me a handful of black dahlias yesterday saying how they would look lovely in my paper. So I brought them home, put them in a vase, and haven't been able to stop from looking at them. I photographed them, even though they weren't the best in the bunch and the photos gave me a lovely idea for a treasury, so here it is.

You can view the actual treasury here. Like a Black Dahlia

I think my love for flowers is only going to grow even more, pun not intended? ;-)

The Countdown Starts...

4...3...2...1... (do you have the 80's song in your head yet?)

I wasn't sure if I would ever make it to 50 sales, much less being 11 sales away from 100, so I decided instead of doing a huge giveaway once I hit 100 sales I would celebrate all the way there.

So I am actually going to celebrate by treating every sale from 90 to 100. Everyone wins something and if you happen to be my 100th sale, you get $25 to spend in my shop!

So here's how it's going to go:

90 - 94th Sale - Customers get a Free Adjustable Ring from my shop/Custom Ring - You and I can work on a design/color of your choice!

95th Sale - 10% Off Entire Purchase - refund taken through Paypal.

96th Sale - 15% Off Entire Purchase - refund taken through Paypal.

97th Sale - 20% Off Entire Purchase - refund taken through Paypal.

98th Sale - 25% Off Entire Purchase - refund taken through Paypal.

99th Sale - One item $18 and under from my shop for Free with purchase!

And for my 100th Sale... I shall be giving away $25 Gift Certificate toward my shop!

So, if you are wanting something to give as a gift to a friend or a loved one, or you want to treat yourself with something from my shop, now is the best time to do so! :-)

Art for your fingers! New Ring listed in my shop!

I simply love the bright and beautiful colors that different fruits give and this ring was inspired by my love of such things. I am drawn to nature and color and created this ring during the spring season so both of those things came about naturally in this piece. Its bright color makes for a fun and perfect to piece for summer wear!

The ring has a mahogany Scrabble Tile placed on an Antiqued Brass band. I hand painted abstract art onto the Scrabble tile, which makes for a lovely little canvas to put my art on.

****

I have had this section in my shop for a while, and added a new piece to my Scrabble Tile Adjustable Rings collection today.

For this ring, I decided to see if how pastels would work out and I was pretty happy with the results. The flowers are somewhat abstract, but you can definitely tell they are flowers and I love the muted colors in the background.

I will be adding many more of these to my shop this week and they are just so much fun to make! Do stop by my shop to keep up with the new additions!

A Sail, A Sail...erm...a SALE!

Ok, enough with the nerdy Shakespeare play on words. ;-)

I am having a weekend sale, woohoo!

I went through to see which items are viewed the most and thought I would choose 20 items and mark them at a 20% discount. They are already set price-wise and ready to ship! So get yourself over there and take advantage of the awesome deal I have going on from now until to Monday, July 12th!

Here's one of my items that is on sale.

I also wanted to announce that I am doing a countdown to 100 sales once I hit my 90th sale (I am now at 86 sales, woohoo!) ...and there will be something special for each customer and the 100th customer will be
receiving a gift certificate for my shop. I will be announcing all the specifics for that very soon, so keep on checking here and on my facebook fan page!

Time for reflection...

Solitude can be such an awesome thing. It really gives me a chance to just think about things going on and there's something about not always speaking out loud every single thought - but examining and taking every thought into captivity and then figuring out where I need to move next. I always treasure these times and I thank God for them.

So I decided to make a treasury that speaks of that sort of pause for reflection:

Here's the link to the treasury:

Material Perspective.

My sister was making the waistband section of her apron last week and we thought it would be fun to take pics of it from different angles. This is the only shot that I was satisfied with after playing around on picnik for a little bit. I love how it has so many contrasting values and I kinda want to go sailing on it...haha. Makes me wish I had made a paper sailing boat to add to this photo.

What's goin' on here?

I was playing around with some of my miniature iron furniture pieces today and decided to shoot some of it. I really ended up liking this one shot a lot, so here it is! My little bear goes nameless and... music-less. :-(

What happened to his gramophone, I wonder? And why is the clock on the ground? :-O!

Shades are covered!

I am so lucky to have two sisters who make such awesome things! I have been needing a new sunglasses cover for the longest time and my younger sis, Kimberly has been stung by the sewing bug and she likes it! I saw this fabric at Joann and so I knew I had to have her make me a sunglass case. I love the extra touches she added to it - all the way down to the button that she picked out! I am pretty sure once she gets more of these that she is going to be adding them to her shop:

I love my sisters! :-D

Keep checking in on Kimberly's shop as she will be adding new things soon!

Array of Colors...

I really love so many different colors, but it's not very evident in my Etsy shop. I saw this color wheel of acorns in Lil Fish Studios ' shop and it gave me an idea. What colors would you like to see more of in my shop? I know there are specific colors depending on the season, but it usually comes down to shades of a certain color.

This is also going to help me out with something new I am adding to my shop. I am adding rings to my shop over the next couple weeks and I am pretty excited about them. They are going to allow me to bring my painting into my jewelry...which makes me smile. (Don't worry, this doesn't mean I will be putting off opening my shop for my art.)

So...what colors are your favorite that you don't see in my shop at present? Do you have favorite summer colors? Do you have favorite colors that you wear no matter what season it is? List them here!

Here's a quick link to my shop. :-)

My new owl locket, how I love thee...

I have had my eyes on blueecho2's shop for a very long time, especially her lockets that she always has on sale that get swallowed up by buyers not long after she lists them. I was going to get one of her flower lockets, but got this instead:

So finally got to make myself a necklace and finished it last weekend..so here it is! I love it so much and can't wait to wear it!

It's Giveaway Time!!

So I actually went 3 sales over my 50 sales goal for my giveaway when one customer bought four items in one day! That made me super-excited, so I am going to celebrate with a giveaway that is going to have not just one winner, but two winners - yay!  I have decided to giveaway one of my pieces that has sold a number of times in my Etsy shop and locally so here it is:

Ta da!

Item valued at $32.00 (USD)

This layered necklace is very reminiscent of the style of the Roaring Twenties, but has a slight modern twist to it. The large flower, which is made up of large Antiqued Brass Leaves, is definitely dramatic and accented with a few Dark Aqua Fire Polished Czech Glass Beads and a single Dark Brown Wood Bead. A simply elegant piece to wear for the times you want to show your more artsy side!

Necklace is made with Antiqued Brass Chain and all other components are also made with Antiqued Brass. Measures at 27 1/2" in length.

So you will have the chance to win the item that I have chosen and then the Second Winner's prize will be...dun dun dun...your favorite piece in my shop! So, even if you are not too fond of the Star Flower necklace, you will want to enter this giveaway, you see!

Featuring Flowers, Dandelions...and a Field...Cyneburg's Field, that is.

Yesterday was a day of taking photos for my younger sister, Kimberly. She just so happens to have a shop on Etsy named Cyneburg'sField, which the name derives from her surname and it may be hard to pronounce (KINE-berg), but I think it's pretty cool. It means "royal forest" or "meadow" and the day I was taking photos I quickly snapped some shots of the plants that have taken over our backyard. I then came up with the idea to tie these all together in a feature of her shop. The shirt above is called "Tornado Scare" and I fell in love with the design when she first showed it to me, so I am so glad to see it in completion!

Kimberly has come up against many obstacles in getting her shop filled, but she is one of the most determined and strong-willed people I know. She has finally got some new designs screen printed and here I have posted the photos we got together for two of her brand new designs and updated this design onto a new shirt and totally different look. "Josephine" is bright and bold...and can be ordered in variety of colors.

This shirt, titled "Alice and Wonderland - Very Good Advice" is probably one of my favorites of hers and the t shirts that she prints her designs on are super comfortable. This shirt's design was inspired by the scene in Disney's Alice and Wonderland where she sings "Very Good Advice" and I love the swirling lyrics in this design and the tree filled with music notes instead of leaves.

My sister is going to be adding so many more exciting items to her shop, including some prints of her designs and some other secret and fun things! Sooo...feel free to frolic through Cyneburg's Field's shop and you will be ever so happy if you decide to make a purchase there!

Fell in love with these...

Last Thursday, I went with my family to my grammie's funeral. I had seen photographs of her throughout my childhood, but I had not seen that many and when the video memorial was played at the funeral, I just fell in love with some of the photos that were shown. My grammie was 82 when she died and I wish she could have been around longer, but I am so glad I got to see her before she passed away. She was such an awesome woman and I am glad she spoke so much about praying to Jesus before she passed away. I could even see more joy in her eyes the week before she died and that was something I will never forget. In the middle of her suffering, she was smiling and making jokes and I know I will be seeing her again.

She was definitely not afraid to get dirty and work with tools. I love that she was short like me, too. Hehe.

She was a tree-hugger! I never knew this...and that is rad.

I think this photo is just gorgeous and I love how she looks super tall. Definitely something for me to think about on my wedding day...whenever that may happen... :-D

I am going to miss her so very much, but she left behind some very good memories. There is so much work to be done over at her house, so I may be posting a few more photos as my family and I sort through her things. It's so strange being over there at her house too...because all of her things are everywhere, but she is no longer walking around so it was such an empty feeling being there after her funeral.

I actually finished this little drawing after playing around with some other stuff. I love dress forms...and I have been experimenting with colors I don't use much...so there we have it. A simple sketch for today.

Not feeling very creative today so I decided to post some photos of my two favorite things...paint and beads...and a charcoal pencil! :-D
